As a true learning community, ongoing professional development for our teachers is central to the GIS experience, ensuring that students consistently receive an exceptional education.

Our mission is to nurture brave, brilliant, and inquisitive young people who are committed to their own growth and the positive development of others. This goes beyond academic achievement, as we also focus on emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and social adaptability.
We support this through our curriculum and pastoral programme, explicitly teaching social and emotional learning (SEL) in class. Research shows that children benefit most when the adults around them also model these skills, so we have developed an Adult SEL programme for all staff, including dedicated training with experts.
We are now extending a similar SEL programme to parents who wish to enhance their own skills and support their children’s development.
